Sorry I looked rough in the last pix, was stressed and tired after a long day....

Simplified.

Hey loves, Merry christmas to y'all...hope you all had a wonderful day? I really dunno what to title this post though, Maybe cos am so excited..lol. There's something about xmas that makes you really happy and very cheerful..I almost got carried away with the festivities and forgot why we actually celebrate xmas..Forgive me Lord...hehehehehe

So I went for a friend's birthday...imagine that! being born on xmas day..cool!!! And since its xmas day I did not want to go there looking like I wore new clothes..and all dressed for xmas..well I decided to go simple..I found this lovely floral top and paired it with leggins, and since the floral top had various colours, I decided to keep my accessories neutral..I had so much fun at the birthday.. What do u guys think?

Note: when wearing something with various colours or bold patterns, try to keep the rest of your outfit neutral such as your accessories.

How much Exercise do we need?

Hey everyone, so sorry for my  absence, the light's been pretty bad here, and I haven't really been inspired lately..I really need a change of enviroment like seriously,..well I'm Supposed to be in church right now, but I had a lil bike accident, yesterday and so I'm stuck here at home and my leg hurts so bad..so I decided to make the most of it, by blogging, cool right?
Let's talk about Exercise today. How much of it do we need? With this weather, I've being feeling lazy to work out, even walks seems like a big job these days. When it comes to physical activity, some is better than none, and more is better. If you don’t currently exercise and aren’t very active during the day, any increase in exercise or physical activity is good for you. Start slow, and gradually build up the length and intensity of your workouts over time.

The amount of exercise needed depends on various factors, like age, sex, state of health etc. Generally kids are more active than adults, so might not need as much exercise as adults, but young adults and older adults should try to be active daily and since women have more body fat than men, they should try to exercise more. According to NHS choices, To stay healthy, its good to incorporate:

   - At least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity such as cycling or fast walking every week, and  muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a  week that work major muscle groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms).

-75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity such as running or a game of singles tennis every week, jogging and muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a
week that work all major muscle groups (legs,
hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms).

What counts as moderate-intensity aerobic activity?
Examples of activities that require moderate effort for most people include:
walking fast, playing tennis,volleyball
basketball, walking the stairs, even thorough cleaning of the house

One way to do your recommended 150 minutes of weekly physical activity is to do 30 minutes on 5 days a week.
Moderate-intensity activity will raise your heart rate and make you breathe faster and feel warmer. One way to tell if you're working at a moderate intensity is if you can still talk, but you can't sing the words to a song....lol

What counts as vigorous-intensity aerobic activity?
Examples of activities that require vigorous effort for most people include:
jogging or running, swimming fast, skipping rope, vigorous dancing, running up and down the stairs.
Vigorous-intensity aerobic activity means you're breathing hard and fast, and your heart rate has gone up quite a bit. If you're working at this level, you won't be able to say more than a few words without pausing for a breath.
In general, 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity can give similar health benefits to 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity.

Muscle-strengthening activity?

Muscle-strengthening exercises are exercise that strengthen the muscles and also help in adding more tone to the muscles like weight lifting, sit-up, push-ups,planks etc..muscle strengthening exercises do not give results without the help of aerobics..

Healthy weight

Adults who are overweight can improve their health by meeting the activity guidelines, even if they don’t lose weight.
To lose weight, you are likely to need to do more than 150 minutes a week and make changes to your diet. Start by gradually building up towards 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity a week. To get health benefits from muscle-strengthening activities, you should do them to the point where you struggle to complete another repetition.

Exercise is important, no matter how little. As the year comes to an end, try to make it one of your resolutions for the new year, I hope this tips have been useful??

My Top Fashionistas

Hi sweets, how are you guys today? I love my friends so much, even though I don't tell them or show it all the time. I guess I'll say am lucky to have friends that are fashion conscious, but I can't feature every one of them, because if I wanted to, I don't know if I'm ever gonna end, but I just thought I do a lil post about my top three fashionistas, some I haven't even met before, but I just love their fashion sense and thought to share with you guys. I picked this three because they have completely different fashion styles but still look chic.

Taiwo Martins
I haven't officially met her yet, but we've been facebook friends for a while, Taiwo's style is chic, sophisticated, and very classy. It obvious she puts a lot of thought into her outfits which are always very amazing, she doesn't follow trends but creates her own style and this is what makes her standout.

Toun Ajiboye
Toun 'Aj' is a fashion blogger, Toun obviously likes to stand-out in whatever she wears, she likes statement pieces, with a body like hers, its very easy to see why whatever she wears fits so well..also the fact that she's a designer is an icing on the cake, she's definitely one fashionista that's fun to watch.

Ezenneka Evan
Evan's style is edgy, she likes bold colours, accessories, very funky outfits, her edginess shows from her outfits to her hair styles, she's clearly not afraid to be fashion forward and that's why I love her.

I'm sure we could all add a bit of sophistication, edginess and simplicity to our wardrobe. What do you guys think? Who's your favourite?

Trend Alert

Hey,how's your sunday going? missed you guys so much, been so busy with church and other stuffs..had rehearsals pretty much everyday this week, and I always got back late..it was worth it at the end of the day...and I can't believe I haven't blogged for about two days now, sorry loves...
I wanted to share with you guys some trends that I'm loving now, they are mostly dresses though, and since I more in love with dresses than blouses or pants, I decided to share it with u guys...

LWD (little white dress)
You can officially give your LBDs a little break now, because the LWD is a trend that has come to stay..they are also very versatile like ur LBDs and can also be styled in so many ways....you could go chic, corporate or even romantic with this look. I had one LWD made and I can't wait to rock it and show u guys...yeeh!!!!I'm so in love this trend and since White is like a big thing now, with people doing the whole white outfit look. You can definitely do no wrong with LWDs

High-low dresses
This are dresses with an asymmetrical hem. The back is usually higher than the front..sometimes even the sides are asymmetrical..there is just this sort of whimsy to these kind of dresses, I'm so in love with this trend. I have about 3 dresses with the high-low hem..and they look really nice.

Cut-out dresses
Another trend I'm loving is the cut-out trend..there are usually cut-outs on different parts of the cloth, and these trend definitely adds more edge to ur style. I think its cool especially if the cut-outs are tastefully done and doesn't make u look trashy, if you are the shy type or a bit conservative and still want to rock this trend, you could just cover the cut-outs with a mesh material, lace just to make u look more confident and still stylish at the same time.

what do you think about these trends???

Hair: Stay or Go Away???

Hey hey, A lot of my male friends have been asking me to do more posts about guys, so I thought I'll give it a try. I asked a few what bothered them the most (offcourse)they came up with a lot of things)and one topic stood out. HAIR!!! With the likes of Hugh Jackman,Colin Farrell and a few other celebs spotting the "I'm hairy and I know" look, one cannot stop to wonder if its cool or just....ermmm..you know.

Most girls I know would say they like a guy that's clean shaven from head to toe..and that includes No facial hair,No chest hair, No armpit hair and some girls would even go as far as the No leg hair.. Some guys naturally do not have a lot of body hair and that's okay, and some even want more body hair, but what about those that do? Do they feel less inferior about this or are okay with it?. Personally I don't see anything wrong with a hairy guy( I like a "manly-man"), not a cave man ...lol. So guys what do u think? Would you go through extra lengths to weed that hair out or maintain it. And secondly guys do u like girls who do not shave?

Some celebs do not seem to mind, or oops! did they forget to shave???

Butt Exercises

I'm sure every lady wants a nice rounded butt (I know I do)..thankfully I think am okay in that area, but every part of our body needs maintenance..lol..our butt inclusive. Most times am stressed about the idea of working out( in particular running or jogging) without losing my butt..so I did a lil research and got some results..there were a lot of results that came up,but on the average this workouts seem to be the basic ones to know if u want to have a nice toned butt

Marching Hip Raise

Lie faceup on the floor with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Raise your hips so your body forms a straight line from your shoulders to your knees. (A) Lift one knee to your chest (B), lower back to the start, and lift your other knee to your chest. Continue to alternate back and forth.

Single-Leg Hip Raise

Lie faceup on the floor with your left knee bent and your right leg straight. Raise your right leg until it’s in line with your left thigh. (A) Push your hips upward, keeping your right leg elevated. (B) Pause, then slowly lower your body and leg back to the start position. Complete the prescribed number of repetitions with your left leg, then switch and do the same number with your right leg

Single-Leg Deadlift

Grab a pair of light dumbbells and stand on your left foot. (If dumbbells make this too hard, just use your body weight.) Lift your right foot behind you and bend your knee so your right leg is parallel to the floor. (A) Bend forward at your hips, and slowly lower your body as far as you can, or until your right lower leg almost touches the floor. (B) Pause, then push your body back to the starting position. If this exercise is too difficult, let the toes of your shoe rest on the floor for balance instead of raising the foot of your non-working
leg.

Squats
Squats are very versatile, and have proved to be very effective in toning the butt. They are relatively simple to do and require no equipment most times, expect you want to improvise. Remember those days we use to squat as punishment in high school, well...they might have looked like torture, but it really helps the butt and also the thighs.. below are various ways you could do your squats. If you don't have dumbells.or barbells, you could still try these workouts

Denim on Denim

A lot of buzz has been going on about the Denim on Denim trend. So i just thought i should chip in my thoughts on it. For a while, wearing denim on denim was a fashion DON'T, and we all thought it was going to remain that way. But fashion has evolved a lot and certain things have changed and its very apparent that denim on denim is one of them. I actually think its a cool trend and i am hoping to try it some day. this is a really cool trend and can be rocked by pretty much everyone......  (not sure about the oldies). That being said, there are some bloggers that have been able to pull this look ( i read a lot of blogs).....lol.

Well i felt i should share it with my wonderful readers and get your thoughts on this trend. Do u think u can rock it?

Cassandra Ikegbune
Falau of blackbeauty
Sing of Signature style
i don't know her, but she sure looks good rocking this trend
Chastity  Valentine of garnersyle

Errmm......Ankara

Who doesn't love the beauty of african prints?..well talking about ankara in particular. Ankara has come to stay, for a while I wasn't into giving out my clothes to tailors, because I always have one complain or the other and end up not wearing it, but recently I just couldn't help but want more and more of this beautiful fabric. The problem though was I had no money to buy or even pay the tailors..like I was so broke, but I still wanted me some ankara...so I set out on a mission...lol..

My mum, being an Igbo woman has all these kinds of ankaras that she uses for different occasions like star, mporoka( I think that's the spelling) , hollandis....and really retro ankaras are the trend right now. You just gotta see what people are doing with ankara. Very creative...from head pieces, necklaces, bags, shoes.... So I asked her for some of her wrappers and some I just.....(Well u know)...most of the pieces I got weren't even up to 2 yards, but I knew I just had to be creative with it or no new clothes for me

I took the pieces to the tailors and got other fabrics just to make simple dresses that I could wear anywhere. And came up with this.

Note: I took this pictures a while ago, never knew I was gonna start a blog, please manage them....lol

  What do you think?
